Should I show up for my debt collection lawsuit trial in Alabama?

When you're dealing with a debt collection lawsuit, it makes sense to wonder whether or not you should show up to your trial.

If you're handling your collection lawsuit on your own, you MUST show up for your trial in Alabama.

If you don't show up, then you'll lose your case and get a judgment against you.

If you hired an attorney to handle your debt collection lawsuit, then you need to get in touch with them and see whether or not they want you to be there. Normally, if your lawyer is there, you do not have to be but you must confirm this with your lawyer.

Sometimes attorneys want their client in the trial, and sometimes they will say that they don't want you there.

Your attorney should get in touch with you and let you know.

Hope this is helpful to you!
