SATOP Classes in Missouri: What is it and how much?

What is SATOP?

SATOP stands for Substance Abuse Traffic Offender Program. Participation is required when a driver has been charged with a DWI. The program has several steps and various levels of treatment. They range from the Offender Education Program to the Traditional Treatment. The levels range from I-IV. Most people who are first time DWI offenders will be placed in the Offender Education Program which is a ten (10) hour course.

What is the cost of SATOP?

SATOP has an assessment screening fee of $126.00 at the time of an appointment for screening to see place the driver in the correct level. After that there is an additional $249.00 called a “supplemental fee". This is used to go towards services for repeat DWI offenders. The total is $375.00.

After that, the cost varies based on which level you are assessed at. This cost ranges from an additional $130.00 to as much as $1,500.00.
