PROPERTY TRANSFER AT DEATH WITHOUT A WILL UNDER TEXAS LAW

When a person dies without a will, the laws of Texas provide for the distribution of property to the deceased’s heirs-at-law under the laws of intestate succession, subject to the payment of the deceased’s debts. Real property and personal property are distributed differently.
