DO NOT TALKIf you are arrested, ask for a lawyer. DO NOT TALK to police, ICE, or any prosecutor/district attorneys. DO NOT WRITE OR SIGN any statements. The government (Police, ICE and any law enforcement agency) is allowed to lie to you in order to get your to talk. Don't fall for that trap.
DO NOT GIVE PERMISSION FOR OR CONSENT TO SEARCHDo not give permission for or conceding to search of your person, belonging, car, or home. Never let a police officer or ICE officer in your home without a search warrant signed by a judge.
CARRY IDAlthough not required by law, carrying proper ID can help you with police encounters.
PHONE CALLS ARE RECORDEDIf you get arrested, assume that phone calls are recorded. Do not admit to anything or talk about the incident over the phone.
