In King County, how do I confirm my family law hearing?

InKingCountyit is extremely important that the party who files a motion for a hearing to also confirm their hearing with the family court coordinator. If the hearing is not confirmed within the allotted time period, the matter will not be on the court’s calendar and will NOT be heard.

You can confirm your hearing two ways:

  1. Online: http://www.kingcounty.gov/courts/FamilyCourt/confirmation.aspx

  2. Over the Phone: Seattle- (206) 296-9340 Kent- (206) 205-2550

The time period for confirming your hearing begins 3 court days before the hearing starting at 12:00 p.m. if confirming online, but at 2:30 p.m. if confirming over the phone. You will have until noon the next day to confirm the hearing as the confirmation period ends at 12:00 p.m. 2 court days prior to the hearing. Weekends and court holidays do not count as “court days" as the court is closed.

EXAMPLE: If your family law hearing is scheduled for a Friday, the confirmation period will begin Tuesday at Noon if online, or 2:30 p.m. if calling in. The confirmation period will remain open until the end the next day, Wednesday, at Noon.
