HOW TO APPLY FOR A WAIVER OF VIRGINIA EMPLOYMENT COMMISSION UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION OVERPAYMEN

On 7/1/21, the Virginia Employment Commission (VEC) will ask each person with an outstanding overpayment of unemployment compensation to apply for a waiver. The VEC will decide if the claimant is without fault, and if repayment would cut into money needed for basic needs (food, shelter, childcare).
