Federal Employee Furloughs

Although a furlough results in the federal employee not being paid, as would be the case in a suspension, a furlough is a different type of adverse action. Furloughs are unique because they occur for nondisciplinary reasons and are usually due to work or funding shortages, such a government shutdown
