Can Your Criminal Case be Appealed?

If you’ve been convicted of a crime in Texas, can you take your case to appeal?

The answer of course, is yes, but with a big caveat. Unless you had a jury trial on guilt or innocence your appellate rights are very limited.

While it can be very hard to win an appeal and see an acquittal, it definitely can be done. You need an experienced criminal appellate attorney to help you (unless your defense attorney is experienced in handling appellate cases, it’s unwise to use him or her for your appeal).
