Are there alternatives to going to court in an accident case?

Yes. In fact, an attorney will often try to resolve the matter before going to court. One alternative is to try and resolve the matter directly with the other party with the assistance of an attorney. If the parties are not able to come to a direct agreement, then another option is to pursue pre-suit mediation, where all the parties come together and try to reach an agreement with the assistance of a mediator. Most accident matters end in one of these two stages. If at that point, the parties are unable to reach an agreement, then the matter will proceed to litigation in court.
