Are there advantages to a power of attorney over a conservatorship?

A conservatorship is where a judge declares that you're no longer able to handle your financial affairs. A power of attorney has a lot of benefits over a conservatorship, one being the whole process. A power of attorney can be done simply with an attorney in the office. A conservatorship is where we have to go to court and spend many months, potentially fighting, and a power of attorney is exponentially less expensive than a conservatorship.
