2 Frequently asked Questions in Estate and Conservatorships Los Angeles, California
This guide will provide you with answers to the two most frequently asked questions we have received over the years in practice in Probate and Conservatorships.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PROBATE AN ESTATE IN LOS ANGELES OR ORANGE COUNTY?The Probate process is generally anticipated to be approximately one year. The Court will set a Status Conference shortly after that period of time and require the Administrator or Executor to report to the Court on the status of the Estate and ask the administrator or Executor to provide the Court with an estimate of completion. If the Probate is not closed within a year, the Court usually anticipates a more complicated Estate involving more assets, or out of state property.
Decision Making – When to Petition the Court for a ConservatorshipWhen a person is lacking the mental capacity to be able to give consent for medical treatment, enter into contracts et cetera, under the proper circumstances, this office can help the client obtain a Conservatorship for that person. A Conservatorship will help to manage the health, welfare and financial needs of the impaired person.
