I got arrested and charged with paraphernalia and possession of stolen vehicle and got 5yrs a bunch fines, a bunch of community service, and HSR stuff but i didnt do anything i was supposed to except show up to the first court date. I went to jail in another county and when i was released from there i should of had a hold on me but i didnt when i had looked it up online it said " DISPOSED: DEFERRED" but i now have a warrant for failure to pay only. I dont have any warrant for failure to appear or any probation violations. Is my case closed or is it open? Im confused.
A deferred means that at the end of the 5 years that the case will be dismissed and expunged if you complete all of the requirements that the Judge ordered you to do. This includes paying all the fines. If you have a warrant for Failure to Pay, it means that you missed a payment or more. You need to get those payments caught up and keep them current.
