After filing the 2011 tax, I found the State Tax Form is for 2010 tax year. However, the payment has no difference by using the 2011 Tax Form. In other words, only the filing form is used incorrectly. Do I have to amend it immediately or jus wait until the State Tax Office notifies me of it? If the State Office notifies me of the wrong form used, will I have to pay the penalty or just fill in the new form?Again, there is no change in the payment regardless of the use of the Form for 2010 or 2011 tax year.
Friend .... Happened to me .... If you paid right taxes I cannot imagine State will care. Worst likely is request for new form to be filled out.
