I receive a court appointed attorney whom I feel didn't explain everything to the best of my knowledge. She was very difficult to get a hold of and only met her face to face on my court date. I feel the probation rules seem harsh for a first offense. Especially when the only reason I was in possession was I tried to take my own life but went to a mental health center for help when the anxiety medication was found on me.
How long has it been since you were sentenced? While you have the statutory right to appeal a sentence, there time limit to do so that could have already lapsed. Even then, appeals because the sentence was, for lack of a better term, "too harsh" rarely succeed. Consider talking with your court-appointed attorney about an appeal or else look for an attorney near you that handles appeals - assuming your appeal isn't time-barred.
