I wanted to know if I would qualify for ssi, I have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, PTSD, migraines, psychogenic seizures, among other things. I receive treatment and visit my doctors regularly. Thanks
If your medical conditions prevent you from working more than 20 hours per week and/or you earn less than $1180.00 gross per month and you meet the non-medical requirements for SSI, then you may be eligible. Having medical problems alone isn’t enough: the medical problems have ti seriously interfere with your ability to do any type of work.
A diagnosis alone, even several diagnoses, does not equate to a disability. Instead what is important is how your medical conditions affect your ability to work on a sustained basis. That, along with your age, education and past work history will factor greatly into the disability determination.

The entire system is designed to have your first go at it without a lawyer. If you lose and need to take an appeal, then you can get counsel paid for.
