I was charged with a hit-and-run with bodily injury the parents do not want to press charges and the kid even said that it was his fault that he ran out in the street I left the scene of the crime because I was scared but I did turn myself in and I got a bond of $100 from the officer. I don't really have the money right now for an attorney I need some advice on what will the outcome be like I said the parents don't want to press charges and the kids said that it was his fault. I also was driving on my hardship license .please give me a call at 386-847-5784 as soon as possible my court date is February 20th
If you hire a lawyer they can get statements from the parents and the kid to this effect snd the chances are very high of a good resolution.
There are too many variables to say what will happen. What I do suggest is that you request a public defender if you are unable to afford a private attorney. Do not handle this on your own.
Wishing you good luck.
I am certain you will be appointed counselon the 20th. You will then be able to arrange to speak yo your lawyer in detail
So if you turned yourself in and bonded out after first appearance, you may have already been appointed a Public Defender, who is a lawyer. If you bonded out before, then you will have the opportunity to have a Public Defender appointed at the arraignment. The Public Defender can reach out to victim(s) and if they sign a Declination of Prosecution that could help your case. You probably want to call their office (386-822-5770) and that may give you a head start on addressing your concerns.
