I called the non emergency number for help because he was off his medicine and was scaring me. The fines and costs had denied the letter for medical sent to him from the assistance office even though he was paying every month trying to catch up. He ended up arrested with simple assault and harassment. I had a Scratch on my arm. I wrote the judge a professional letter explaining this and everyone involved has it. This is his first violation and is being recommended a one to two. The police officer told me I would be charged if I didn't press charges for false report. I work six to seven days a week with five kids and we all love and miss him dearly. He is my only help.
1. Shame on the police officer. There are very few District Attorneys that would agree with him. 2. You dont give us enough information to respond on your main question. If they are recommending a 1-2 there are a lot of facts missing. You arent going to find great answers here. Your best bet is enlist private counsel. If the cop threatened you with charges you are well within your rights to seek counsel. They will be able to go through specifics with you and even asist you in communicating your desires to the district attorney.
Please excuse my brevity and any typos as answers are often given using a cellular phone.
