I graduated in December 2017, and I got OPT. I left U.S. on May 31, 2018. Till the end of 2019, I did not reporting my status with my University. I just found they sent me email last year asking me to update my OPT status. But my OPT was even terminated. I thought U.S. customs would share their records about my leaving with my University. Will there be any consequences? Will it affect my later re-applying another VISA or applying a new school program or even future possible-existed OPT? Is there anything I can do to make up?
If you did not violate your status nor overstay your period of admission, it is not likely there will be any negative consequences.
