Thought I should provide all factors:
I was driving with a suspended license in a borrowed car (that belongs to my bf) that is insured with liability insurance through Allstate. Insurance policy is under his parents were only them two plus my bf are listed as covered drivers. I ended up rear-ending a truck, which has no damage as far as I could see due to the fact that I took most of the impact when I hit his trail hitch. My front bumper has a hole in it due to the trail hitch & a busted headlight but can still be driven. The police were called & a report was made.
What I want to know is if insurance will cover: damages to the car I was driving & if guy I hit decides to pursue a claim?
Also, if police were not called & report was not made, could the guy still make a claim with the Allstate insurance without a police report? He disclosed that he has uninsured driver insurance.
Also, how much longer will this set me back from renewing my license? I had already paid my reinstatement fees & surcharges. I was looking into an SR-22 so that I could apply for an occupational license but then this happened.
Any information would greatly be appreciated
As long as you had permission to operate the vehicle, you should be covered.
Some liability coverage has different policy language but if the owners confirm with their insurance carrier that you were granted permission to drive their vehicle at the time of the accident, you will likely be covered for the accident.
