I was pulled over for speeding 74/55 a couple of months ago. I noticed that the officer wrote down the incorrect license plate # - it was incorrect by 1 letter. He wrote "Y" where it should be an "x". My eye color is also incorrect - he wrote blue, when my eye color is brown.
Will this by itself be enough to have the judge dismiss the charge?
By itself, no. Only things that are part of the substantive offense you are being charged with should overcome the summons itself. Judges will usually dismiss these as minor flaws in paperwork seeing as they have little to do with your stated offense, unless your defense is identification and either you were not the person or the car that committed the offense.
