I would like to divorse my huband. He is verbally abusive and is cheating. The other eomen is stelling my clothing and following us around i believe she has keys to my house. If i move out will this be abandonment, will i have to pay him alimony?
New York now calls it 'maintenance' and this is not determined by fault; it is determined by income. No matter what you do, a divorce court will use income to determine maintenance. So totally misbehaving spouses can get money from the innocent spouse. It seems contrary to common sense, but our system of justice is contrary to common sense.
