I have been on probation for 2 years, and my case will be done on March 26, 2017. I got violated last week because i still owe $400 of the $1,280 i owed. and still 25 hours out of 100 of community service. it was my first violation. I'm in north carolina. charge is obtaining property under false pretense.
It's very unlikely they'll revoke you and lock you up on a first violation. Some counties are harsher, but places like Charlotte do not lock up many probation violations for money and community service hours on the first go round. That said, you should not take it lightly, get as much money paid and as many of those CS hours done before your final hearing. (The first date in court is only the probable cause date and you'll have a few more weeks after it before you have to face the music.) Get a lawyer, get on doing as much of the old business handled, and you should be okay.
Questioner, Mr. Schemer gave you a very thorough, clear answer. pkease follow his advice and also please speak with your attorney and follow their directions and do everything you can to knock down the remainung hours and the financials due.
