I went to this bar and got drunk. But in fact I think someone put something on my drink but its irrelevant because I cannot prove it. But, I was taken to jail spent the night there. I don't remember exactly what happened. But I was charged with a public intoxication (PI) but I am a minor so I am wondering if when I go to court they will charge me then for Minor Consumption or can they not do that? since on the paper it say PI but then again I am 20 so I'm worried that I will be charged for Minor Consumption.
The state doesn't have to charge you with every single crime they suspect you of having committed. The PI charge may be enough in their estimation to get your attention.
If they do, they will give you notice long before you get to court. Your best option to protect yourself from whatever charge(s) you face would be to hire a lawyer who can ensure you don't wind up with a conviction for whatever they throw at you.
