I have case over in Fort Collins, CO. I was charged with having No Insurance, an UN-registered vehicle, and Careless Driving. I was forced to move away from Colorado after my father lost his house. Staying there would have resulted in me being homeless for two weeks while waiting for the court date. I currently live in Missouri and am wanting to go back there to finish the case. I have a warrant for 100.00 currently. I work at Onshore Outsourcing as a programmer and have a apartment and a girlfriend here. Will they truly want to jail me based on the Careless Driving...? I do not have a driving record besides what has been given here, I was told to just come pay the fine, and then they would set a court date, but I will only have 40 hours of PTO to accomplish this goal or else I will lose my job and my house.
You are unlikely to face a jail sentence for these charges, but the longer you take to resolve the warrant for failure to appear, the more likely a jail sentence is.
Your best bet would be to hire an attorney to see if you can arrange everything prior to appearing in court. It may be possible to arrange to appear, enter a plea, and pay your fines all in one appearance. This will likely require an attorney to talk with the prosecutor.

I agree jail is unlikely, I would contact an attorney they may be able to resolve this case on your behalf without you ever coming back to Colorado, thus saving time and money and eliminating the possibility of jail.
