Here's the deal
I was charged unfairly by healthcare provider for 500$ and collection agency is contacting me for past 2 months for debt collection.
I need to get Police Clearance certificate from USA FBI for Australia immigration purposes and I have submitted all documents to them including fingerprints on December 1(no SSN is needed by FBI).
My question is will collection agency debt affect Police Clearance certificate?
Is this a civil matter?
Any help is highly appreciated.
Debt collection is normally a civil matter that does not entail any criminal charges or reporting to law enforcement, unless there is fraud involved. Any dispute with a healthcare provider or collection agency should have no impact whatsoever on your police certificate.

Your outstanding debt to a healthcare provider should not have any impact on your ability to obtain a police clearance in the U.S. since a debt is normally a civil and not a criminal matter.
