I was arrested two weeks ago for disorderly conduct on campus and I am currently waiting for my court date in another two weeks. I'm 18, but I don't want my parents to find out. In a couple of days, we are visiting family in Mexico by car and I'm scared that border patrol will see it and bring it up when we cross the border (I would obviously explain the reason to my strict parents, which I'd rather just not deal with), or worse, I won't be allowed to re-enter the country. This is my first offense, I should add.
I do not think it will be a problem. It will be a problem if there is bench warrant out for you, however.
What type of status are you here on? This case is better marked as immigration in my opinion.
If you are not either a US citizen or a lawful permanent resident, I think your concern is valid. ICE has been denying entry to and detaining people at international borders pursuant to directives from the Trump administration more randomly and aggressively . If you have no permanent status, I would suggest that you either postpone your trip or seek advice from an immigration lawyer.
