My boyfriend is a married man, and he gives me allowance at times. His wife found out our messages that we were joking we are mutual beneficial ,and we were sexting too. So she thought I am an prostitute, but I am not!!! Can she make the police charge me prostitution if she uses our messages as evidence? or adultery?
Pursuant to NRS 201.295(4), prostitution is defined as “engaging in sexual conduct for a fee.” Generally speaking, there is nothing illegal about giving a friend or loved one an allowance. However, if your text messages indicate that the money that your boyfriend is giving you is directly for sex, the text messages could be used as evidence against you. As long as the dialogue in the text messages does not appear to broker a deal wherein you receive money in exchange for sex, it is unlikely that the police will be interested in pursuing the matter.
