My husband was arrested almost 24hours ago in an adjacent county for paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine. I still haven't heard from him, the only reason I was able to figure out where he was is in all due to the find my phone app we have. Then, when I wake up and go back on to that city's website I noticed that they had changed his charges from possession of methamphetamine to Drugs-Illegally Obtaining a Controlled Substance. The night before I was told he had an investigator hold on him, now it states next to his charge that he has no bond. I need a better understanding of this situation please.
Hire a local attorney immediately and have the attorney call the jail and instruct them not to question your husband without an attorney present. An “investigative hold” means they want to question him, and that could make a big difference in the outcome of the case. That’s all you can do at this point.
Hire a lawyer ASAP. The Investigative Hold means that the investigator wishes to get a statement from him before he is released. He should not give a statement at all. As far as the charges changing the substance may not actually be methamphetamine as they thought and was some other substance that he allegedly obtained illegally such as some sort of prescription medication.
