I am dude to receive money from long term disability after receiving my SSDI because the company I worked for never submitted my information to the long term disability company until two years later and now they want to pay me. If they are going to pay me why would they expect an offset from social security? Social security paid me before they did. I paid into long term disability insurance and never received it. Why are they giving it to me now?
Generally the policy will outline deductible sources of income. Almost always SSDI is included. If SSDI is paid for any time period during which you received private benefits, the original SSDI benefit amount is deductible from the amounts to be paid for that same period, regardless of when those benefits are actually paid. Hope this helps.
