I was restrained, and patted down, then handcuffed by security at a local fresh groccer. I was taken to the office, where they removed a bottle of dish soap from my pocket, and 3 lbs of fish from my jacket, with a total cost of $28.00. Temple police were called and i was placed into there costudy they had stated that it was up to the store security to show up to court not themselves and that they were suprised to have been called. I was taken to a local station in callow hill. I was finger printed and given a bail confrence on a video monitor. I was told by the staff i would then have to wait until i could go before a judge on video court which could be several hours, shortly after i was given a sheet listing i had been charged with retail theft summary offense 1 count. I was given my personal belongings and told to report to court as listed on said sheet.
On a summary offense you do not need to see the Judge or bail commissioner to set your bail because no bail will be set on a summary. Your have a retail theft case if convicted could put your future in jeopardy. Talk to a lawyer.

The "sheet" should have a date for you to appear at a magisterial district court. If it has no date, it has the court's contact number - call for the date. I recommend getting an attorney- it should be only one court appearance so it's economical and money spent wisely. Good luck!
You ask why you were released. Because they did not need to hold you any more, and gave you instructions. Get a criminal defense attorney on your side.
