My wife and I both recently applied for an Employment Authorization Card at the Texas Service Center and she received an EAD with a 2-year validity while my new EAD with only a 1-year validity. Previously, I have always received an EAD valid for 2 years. Could it be a clerical error?
My employment based I-485 has been pending since 2005 and I am on c(9) category.
It could be an error. It could also reflect that your interview is anticipated to be scheduled within the year.
You could contact the Texas Service center and inquire, but it may not be productive as they will have to locate your file and it may disrupt its place in the processing queue. You are probably best to just renew before the 1 year is up if you do not have an interview or green card by then.
