3 years ago my exhaust and was under the influence and became out of control and verbal with me in front of my OLDER son. No one was hurt but we were both traumatized from it. After this my YOUNGEST sons father filed for supervised visits and my OLDER sons father just made it so I cud be the only one around my son which has sence changed to regular visits.different judge for each son to. I've had supervised visits with my YOUNGER son for 3 years now but not with my OLDER son who was present at the incident. I've not been with my ex in 2 years. I went to councling to deal with the stress it wasn't ordered I go or forced I just did it. No history of mental illness or drug abuse I've never harmed my kids or put them in danger. I now have some custody of my 15 month old daughter given by the same judge and law Gaurdian who gave me the supervised visits with my son and I was never given a reason for the supervised visits. Me and my OLDER son were victims and I don't understand why I'm still being punished for my ex's actions.
Supervised visitation is generally a short term solution to protect a child against a perceived or real threat. It is unusual for supervised visits to continue as long as three years. I am not certain why this is happening or why the court is continuing supervision, having not been involved in the case, but it would seem worthwhile based on the facts above to apply for a return to regular visitation.
