My brother was driving my car. Police pulled him over and impounded my car because they said suspended license for insurance. I paid for the insurance on thanksgiving day and car was taken 2 days later . Went to court and they said the insurance did not show in the system and said I have to pay 1200 to get the car back. Brother went to court for suspended license and case was dismissed. I have proof that it was paid on time but they still wouldn't let me get my car back what am I supposed to do ??
Go back to court and get a copy of the timely payment. Go talk to the police and see exactly what they need and want. Work it.
Advice given in this forum does not create an attorney - client relationship. No advice should be relied on without consulting with a local attorney.
You really need an experienced traffic court attorney. I changed your practice area to criminal defense. An attorney in that field might be able to help you get this resolved.
Get a copy of the coverage for the date in dispute from the carrier and bring same to Court. You may need local speeding/traffic counsel to help.
Get copies of proof of payment and coverage. If that doesn't work, talk to a lawyer.
