I was pulled over for suspended registration in Clayton county. It had just been suspended days prior and I had no knowledge. I went to court not knowing that I could fight it based on the fact I had not been notified yet. Plead guilty and my license were suspended for 6 months. I had paid 735 for the ticket. I went online after 6 months dds.ga.gov and paid 200 for reinstatement. Then called to see if they had received it and ask how long it would be before reinstatement. The rep said I was required to take a defensive driving course before I could get reinstated. I want to know why because the judge never mentioned this.
Because DDS is separate from the court system and they may have additional requirements to reinstate your license. Those are separate from and in addition to court requirements.
