Husband and I moved here from out of state 2 months ago for a job so know no one here . 2 cars . Complex repaved parking lot this past week and sent us all notice to park on certain streets OUTSIDE the complex or we would be towed. These streets appear to be in a private neighborhood . First night we receive a threatening message on one of our cars . Thursday we had to leave for a meeting and come home yesterday to find our other car's top slashed to pieces parked where I was required to park by the apt or else be towed . Called police , have report number , calling ins , but does the complex have zero responsibility ( about the top , not the note) ? The main contact in the office is not concerned . Just says people are crazy these days . Complex is corporate owned. and not informed.
Nothing you have posted suggests landlord liability to me. They are not normally responsible for criminal behavior, had it happened on your surrounding streets r in your own parking lot either.
