Court lasted 5 years and held once a month in which i attended.Their was 13 involved with beating, burning him while he was alive then shooting him exacutional style in the head twice. Coroner testified that my son was alive when they burned him due to finding of smoke inhalation. After they killed my son they were caught and questioned but released, What kind of person releases anyone from a 1st degree murder with a special circumstance charge, they were just questioned and let go. They never investigated my sons death and that was said so at trial by defendents attorney. They caught 1 and 2 years later caught a 2nd one. who was the one that lit my son on fire. After serving 2 years the arsonist got released on a plea deal w/o me knowing and as the mother of a victim i thought i had a right to be informed of any plea barganing or release,, were my rights violated i think they were. I think all involved should be prosecuted including the DA,arson DA,Judge,Defense attorney for not doing justice. I have been through hell with all of them. The DA at trial had remarked to me that my sons death was not serious, the judge at trial told me if i said a word to jury the consequences are bad.
Truly sorry to hear about your son's tragic death, but there is nothing that any of us can do. It was handled according to the law but I doubt there is anything anybody could do to satisfy you. Ranting on some random website will not bring your son back. We know nothing about the evidence or facts and why only two people were prosecuted. You know that no one is going to get prosecuted - not the DA, the judge or the defense attorney who did his or her job, which by the way is not seek justice for anyone but the client. I would love to talk to the defense attorney and get his or her thoughts on the case. Even the judge had to admonish you not to create a scene in front of the jury. You've lost a son in the most horrible of ways so all we can do is offer our sympathy. Have you sought grief counseling? It may help.
