My girlfriend is living in a sober house and the lady who runs it told her today that she can evict someone simply because she wants to. I don't agree with that and would like a legal answer so I can tell my girlfriend where she stands. She has been compliant with everything that has been asked of her and has had negative drug tests since she got there. Thank you for any information you can give me on this
Unfortunately, if you are not the person involved, you probably don't have enough information to really know how to ask this question to get a good answer. The rules regarding how and why your GF can be evicted depend on whether she has a lease, or is a tenant at will. A tenant at will can be evicted without cause for no reason at all on 30 days notice. It also depends if this is a landlord-tenant issue or it is governed by some form of other healthcare contract.
