Pro bono attorneys in criminal court are easy to find. Begin your search in the Defender's Office. If your husband qualifies for court-appointed counsel, they can help your husband. The alternative is to privately hire an experienced criminal defense attorney. For that, your search begins with the "find a lawyer" feature on Avvo. Good luck.
The pro-bono attorney is the public defender. If you are not satisfied with the PD, you'll need to hire a private attorney.
You are asking for a good lawyer to devote his time and energy to a difficult case. There are not many who will do that for free. Most lawyers want to make a living. With that said, some attorneys may be interested in your case as appointed counsel. Speak with the courts about obtaining indigent representation. The bottom line is if you don't have money, most good lawyers are not going to look at your case.
