When I was arrested June 25.accused of $5000.00 in lottery ticket theft at the store I worked at. Spent 49 horrible hours in jail. Was released without being charged. On average how long will it be until charged and will it probably be a letter telling me a court date? I am on probation now for a felony 14yrs. ago. I do NOT have a PO. Just have to report monthly to a automatic phone reporting system do I need to report this since not charged that worries me.
You can expect the charges to come within a few weeks but this is the time to meet with some different criminal defense attorneys in your area for help with this case. You don’t want to find out the hard way her you have a warrant out. Get a lawyer now! Good luck!
It can be a few weeks or a few months. Very unpredictable. If it's in Ramsey County, they are known for issuing warrants instead of court dates. You'll want your lawyer to keep an eye on things so that you know when that warrant issues. Your lawyer may even take some steps to try to get them to give you a voluntary court date instead of just coming out and arresting you.
It's probably still a condition of your probation to report new arrests. Follow your lawyer's advice on that.
Do not rely on this information. My office accepts clients from Avvo, but this initial impression is not protected by any privilege and is not attorney-client communication. You should consult a lawyer promptly about your legal matter.
