A friend of mine received her green card in 2014. Since she became a permanent resident she traveled outside the US every year for a duration of less than 6 months except for the first two year she stayed in the US just a little under 6 months (5 months and 10 days.
Now that she is filling for her citizenship there is a question that asks if she stayed outside the US for a period of time exceeding 180 days. Does she have to answer yes or no. knowing that if she answers no she has to prove that the US is her place of residence with document such as taxes.
Note that her and her spouse are retired from their native country (no work history in the US.
