I have been falsely accused, and received an Emergency OP. Summons states respond within 7 days from being served excluding day being served. Is this calendar days, or business days? Hearing for Plenary/Interim OP is set 21 days after being served. Soonest consultation I could get is 7 calendar days from being served papers. This would be too late to respond if calendar days are implied. The lady from lawyer's office couldn't answer this question, and referred me to call the court house. I spoke to the County Court Clerk, and she said I'd be fine waiting for lawyer to provide answer on hearing date spoke of above. She said she wasn't familiar with the statement of 7 days, and hearings are usually sooner than the 21 days for mine. I'm not confident she provided me correct information, and I don't want to miss a deadline for response if she was unintentionally misinforming me. Thank you in advance for your time and response.
Court clerks don’t provide legal information. You need a lawyer immediately and should get into One sooner. Your answer is due seven calendar days after service.
