There are many opportunities to earn extra credits by participating in educational, vocational and counseling programs. Your son's CDCR counselor will discuss this with him.

Once they are processed and the records are reviewed, a prison "counselor" will inform them of their projected release date. This usually happens within a month or so of their housing placement. Initially, most inmates go through a 90 day processing at one of the central valley prisons and then is housed elsewhere. It is upon that final housing determination they will be given their calculated out date.
