When I turn 18, I am going to leave my house. By the time I turn 18, I will only have a week left in high school so there is no worry there. What I need to know is what legal documents and other things will I need to be able to leave without any issue. My parents will try to get me back and they will use anything they can to bring me down legally. I need to know is what files and information I am going to need to be able to leave and never come back for anything. In addition to this, I have a car. I bought the car with my own money, but because I bought it before the age of 18, I think the title is under my father’s name. I am not sure if I am a cosigner on the title, but I am pretty sure I am. How will I be able to get the car under my name because I know my parents will say I stole the car in order to get me back. Thank you for your help in advance!
You wont "Need" anything but you might want to take things to protect yourself and make things easier in the future, such as birth certificate, passport, driver's license, bank records, personal items such as clothes, phones and the like. You will be an adult and can do whatever you want but if your parents try to make a statement that you are not old enough you will want something to prove your age.
