A few years ago i caught a case for misdemeanor marijuana possesion. I ended up with D.A. supervision, some fines and fees, and about 50 hours of community service. I didnt complete my community service and didnt finish paying my fines off. I was recently told i had a warrant, by a potential employer. I want to take care of it, but i would like to know what the best worst case scenarios are. If its an application to accelerate and i have to go to jail, how long would i be looking at? Can i turn myself in and get bonded out immediatly, or would i have to serve the time??
You are looking at a year in jail. You can turn yourself in and post bond. You will then have a court date at a later date.
It is a misdemeanor. Doubtful that the judge wants jail time from you. However, you need hire a bondsman to do a surrender on the warrant. You should be able to get out immediately when you do the bond. You will need to hire an attorney to help you with working out a deal the D.A. and judge.
