I was driving a friend to Veterans Association to get help with housing and drug treatment on the NJ Turnpike. We were pulled over by state police who say they clocked me going 88mph but note the officer was in the cars only lane (in motion north up the highway) while I was in the cars and trucks lane (heading north). I was given a speeding ticket and recived my fourth driving on a suspended.
Depends on the judge and the town you were clocked in. But courts have been cracking down on this more. The days when I could keep someone out of jail on their 9th (less than a year ago) seem to be gone.

It doesn't matter what lane either of you were in.
You have four violations on a suspended license? I'm surprised that you weren't taken into custody on the spot.
Hire an attorney ASAP.
As an aside, if you're speeding on the Turnpike without a radar detector, then you're playing Russian roulette. Most especially between Swedesboro and Mt. Holly and also the Walt Whitman rest stop.

The 3=40 is the real issue. More information is needed. Why were you suspended, why did you not know? If it for DWI you have more problems. if just a 4th you are looking at that 10 day jail time. This kind of case takes some dancing.
Your looking at 20 to 100 days in jail because you got a traffic violation with your driving while suspended ticket get a lawyer these tickets have mandatory jail and jail is not the place for good people who help their friends.
