I received a traffic citation (40-6-181, 'speeding in excess of maximum limits') on Hwy 316 (four lane road) for 83 in a 55. I had slowed to 75 by the time he got behind me as I was passing a line of cars (I explained that to the office yet he still wrote the citation for the 83 mph, not 75 mph).
You can go to court and ask them to reduce it, but you will be in line behind 100 other people doing the same. Or you can get a lawyer, save a day in court, and greatly increase your chances of getting a reduction.
