I was cited, in Georgia, for suspended vehicle registration and expired license. The officer ran the VIN number and said it had suspended registration. He wrote a citation for 40-6-15 and 40-5-32. He allowed the other person to drive, since I had expired license. He said I could pay ticket and get it fixed or will get more tickets. I called and could not pay the ticket so I researched the law more. I think the officer wrote the wrong citation. I went to arraignment, pleaded not guilty after trying to be talked into a plea deal. I had recently purchased a vehicle and was late on getting my tag, but had all proper registration. The solicitor said she couldn't dismiss without cop. I plea NG. I ask for attorney and was denied. I prepared for court date in next month. I went to court ensuring the judge knew I was against not having counsel because it could lead to conviction of 12 months. He again assured me I was not entitled to an attorney. I was convicted. I asked how to appeal, and his reply was figure it out. He called the next day saying he talked to solicitor and he was wrong, so court didn't happen. He took my license that day and wants me to come to office to get and restart.
I would do what the judge says. Sounds like you are home free.
