I left USA leaving my car with my landlord. He is driving it now. He promised he would pay the registration and insurance. However He did pay the insurance but DIDN’T pay the registration. It has been almost a year! I think he did it on purpose. He said he was afraid of the car gets caught up.What does he want to achieve? Since I cannot come back soon, what should I do for my car?
Thanks for your advice!
If the car is registered to you, you will be the one getting the tickets for parking violations, toll violations, camera tickets, and other citations in which a live law enforcement officer does not stop the vehicle.
If you will be coming back to the US, you may end up with thousands of dollars of fines and your driver's license suspended.
You likely should authorize someone to go get the car from the landlord and keep it away from him.
