So I live in a 3 bedroom apartment in providence, 1 large room and 2 small rooms . I live in one of the small rooms and have a roommate who also lives in a small room next door and just this weekend the landlord decided to remove the woods that were dividing my room from my roommates room.that made my roommate move to the larger room with a door and I sleep in the open space , my roommate passes through my room to his room because the landlord took down the woods which also divided the hallway from the bedrooms , leaving me to sleep in the open . The room was divided with a cheap ply wood but it didn't really bother me because I had my privacy and could lock my door even we could hear eachother anytime we talked . I spoke to him about that and he said that's how the room is gonna be from now on .. But the thing i have a lot of valuable things and since I sleep in the open my roommate or any of his guests can go through my stuff when Imnot around. I have no privacy. My lease ends on August 30 but I donot want to live there anymore
And I want to break my lease because that wasn't what I signed for when I signed the lease .

It appears the landlord made a material change in the living quarters of the unit. This is likely a violation of the lease.
It is also possible the apartment was illegal, which is why he removed the "woods;" i.e., the walls. Would the landlord even object if you left?
