My now ex-boufriens got black out drunk and beat me with my own wheelchair. He doesn't remember anything at all. But he's been emotionally abusive for years and nearly kill my dog back in 2015. He then made me adopt that dog out. This is his first felony charge. He was charged with shop lifting in 2014 but somehow got it expunged. He also had run-ins with the law when he was young, but also got those expunged. He was given a no-contact order by the judge after he beat me. He was granted a one time visit. However he lied to dispatch and got to come out a second time because he said he hadn't come out yet. The 2nd time he came out the officer left him alone with me, though he didn't try anything because she was right outside. Thoughts?
A third degree felony is punishable by up to five years in prison, five years probation, and a $5,000 fine. There are certainly variations and exceptions to the rule.

1. This has NOTHING to do with animal law. It is clearly a criminal law matter.
2. Presumably the DA has a victim/witness liason who can answer your questions. Call the DA's office.

Why does this concern you anymore? The system will work hopefully by putting him in jail. Do not worry about it anymore, just focus on not getting back with this person.
